As I’ve mentioned in my last few post, this year I have felt a little more Halloween festive than ever before. Well to wrap up the last Halloween post for this season I knew what I wanted to create. My Neighbors are such a cute family, and I see they’re kids playing with chalk all the time. I knew that they always liked to decorate for Halloween and I knew that this pumpkin would be such a cute and easy idea. You can draw and change the faces as much as you want, and even clean it for a solid pumpkin to continue the fall decorations.
Here’s what I used:
a nice clean and round pumpkin (the larger the better)
Chalkboard Paint
Chalk
Brush
First, Paint 1 layer of the chalkboard paint to cover the pumpkin, let it sit and dry. Its ok if it has some streaks in it, there will be multiple coats to cover it.
Next, once the first coat is dry, apply a second coat. let sit and dry, repeat if needed (I did 3 coats)
Now, once you have applied all coats as you want, and dried. Take a piece of chalk and LIGHTLY brush the whole pumpkin with the chalk to give it a coat.
Then lightly wipe it with a dry eraser or paper towel.
Now its ready to go and you can draw whatever you want onto it, be easy with it though as you can see some of the chalk edges can make it peel.
Now see. wasn’t that just super easy and cute! And its soooo universal too!
So Tell me what do you think about this pumpkin idea?
