My First post back since my break! YAH!!!! Things are slowing down a little bit which means hopefully I will have the time now to keep the posts coming. So, now to the topic, No Sew curtains. I’ve been working on redoing alot of rooms in our house and my office was a big redo. I needed curtains for the office, but I needed them fairly quick, but that were really easy and they had to look great. Well here they are, An amazing quick, easy, and great looking curtains that do not require any sewing.
What you will need:
Fabric of your preferred pattern
No Sew Iron on fusing web (AKA hemming tape)
Tape Measure
Iron
First measure the distance from the actual curtain rod to the floor. Add 1″ to each end and cut (example my curtain to floor was 86inches, so I cut the fabric at 88″)
I Ironed out any wrinkles and creases in the fabric and laid flat on the floor until I was ready to do the edges.
Next I took the fabric I had cut and ironed and I folded over 1″ on one end and Ironed it (before I added the iron on tape) to give it a perfect crease and easy to place the iron on tape between.
Then I measured the length of the fabric and cut the iron on tape, and inserting it between the fold.
Next, I ironed the fabric slowly, about 10 seconds to each section.
I let the fabric cool to the touch before I moved it.
I also pulled back a little to check and make sure it was fused together.
I repeated the step on all 4 sides of the fabric.
Then, I took the clips and attached evenly spaced across the fabric.
I hooked them to the curtain rings. and hung them. I made sure that the bottoms came close to the floor but didnt actually touch it ( I dont like the wrinkles it makes at the bottom)
And thats is, A quick and easy way to make curtains that not only look great but they look expensive as well.
P.S. I will have another post on how to make them that slide into the rod later.
