I love Alfredo, it’s one of my favorite pastas. I’ve tried to make homemade Alfredo many times and nothing has come out as good as this recipe, it’s quick, simple, creamy, and the best I’ve ate. Better than any restaurant Alfredo! Thats why I call this the “Get Yo Life Alfredo” because your life will be forever thankful you made this.
I PROMISE!
Here is what you will need:
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup margarine (1 stick, I used butter 😉 )
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 8 ounces of your favorite Pasta (or more if you don’t like as much sauce)
- Chicken or Shrimp or any other type of cooked meat you would prefer
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil, add your pasta and cook 8-10 mins, or until al dente, drain.
In a medium saucepan, on low heat (ONLY LOW heat, don’t try to rush and cook on medium or high!) Add the cream cheese, milk, margarine, basil, garlic powder, & parmesan cheese. I used a whisk to stir until all ingredients were combined & creamy.
It took maybe 10 mins to make the sauce, real simple, real good! add the sauce on top of the pasta & mix in your meat.
I love shrimp Alfredo but just getting over food poisoning, I didn’t take any risks :/ but this has to be the best dish ever, and the best part, you made it yourself & it didn’t come from a jar! WINNING! 🙂
I like to use bow tie pasta for my Alfredo, you can use whatever type of pasta you prefer, 4cheese ravioli sounds good too. Here are some other pics of different types. Just for ideas for you.
