I ran across this recipe from cdkitchen.com and I had to try it to see how it really turned out. Ok, so I never follow a recipe exactly, but hey, thats me. I love to alter it a little bit so (in my head) its more of my own recipe. This recipe is fairly easy, but the end results were really good. It really did taste like pizza huts pizza. Heres the recipe
Heres what you will need:
1 1/3 cup warm water
1/4 cup non-fat dry milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 package dry yeast
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for dough)
9 ounces vegetable oil (3 oz per pan)
butter flavored cooking spray
For the Sauce
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
1 teaspoon dry oregano
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon dry basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
First: put sugar, salt, yeast, & milk into a large bowl. Add warm water and mix well, then add oil (2 tbs) and stir.
Add flour until mixed well and dough is formed. Kneed for 10-15 mins. Split dough into 3 balls.
In 3 9″ cake pans, add 3oz of oil and spread evenly. Flatten the 3 balls of dough, spray edges with cooking spray, and addone to each pan, cover and place in a warm place and let rise for 1 – 1 1/2 hours.
For the sauce: mix all ingredients together and let sit until dough rises.
Next: preheat your oven to 475. Spoon about 1/3 of a cup of sauce onto each crust. add cheese and any additional toppings. Cook until cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown, 15- 25 mins usually. Cut and serve.
Tip Alert: before adding sauce, pinch back edge of crust, cut string cheese into 1/4 long way, pull crust over to create stuffed crust pizza.
