I LOVE Ranch Dressing. Hands down its the most versatile dressing that I think we use on everything other than salads. I wanted to make a Ranch Dressing that was healthier and not already made “why not make it simple and make it at home”
(updated 7-15-14, Thanks to everyone who pointed this out, it is supposed to be 2tsp NOT 2Tbs of Dill! Whew thanks, Im so sorry for anyone who made it and it was super powerful.)
I thought to myself, And I did, heres the recipe for your own homemade ranch dressing that taste just as great as the store bought (And I do mean just as great!) I have always been very picky about the “Brand” I use.
Here’s what you will need:
6 Tbs dried Parsley
2 Tsp dried Dill
2 Tbs Onion Powder
1 Tbs garlic powder
1 pinch of salt
1 1/2 Tsp fresh ground Black Pepper
(Some Add 1 Cup of dried Buttermilk, I did not add this because I’m making it as healthy as possible)
Plain Greek Yogurt
Mix all ingredients together, 1 Tablespoon of mix is good for 8oz of plain greek yogurt (Its very strong!), I mixed mine with 16oz plain greek yogurt and 8oz cottage cheese and mixed in the food processor.
Remember, The expiration date is the same as the expiration date of the Greek Yogurt or whatever you use to mix it with, If you mix it in a different jar, use a Sharpie to write the expiration date. We dont want to make up a nice salad or entrée to have an unpleasant surprise
Let me know how you like this Homemade Ranch Dressing, Did you change anything to make it different?
